Parma is a small enchanting provincial city with a French flavour and a great culinary tradition.

Parma is best known as a food town - think Prosciutto, Parmigiano cheese and handmade pastas. But Parma is also a cultural city with monuments, palaces, beautiful decorated churches and some nice museums.

The Duomo, the Baptisterium, Teatro Farnese, the beautiful buildings along the river, etc.

All must see attractions when visiting Parma!

If you want to feel the soul of the city, go to Teatro Regio to see an opera or a spectacle in one of the velvet logge boxes. Parma has always played a fundamental role in the history of music in Italy. Conductor Arturo Toscanini was born in Parma and Parma was home town of the celebrated violinist Niccolò Paganini. However, Parma is most associated with the influential Romantic composer Giuseppe Verdi who put Parma known into the international scene.  Parma’s Teatro Regio celebrates annually his work during the Verdi Festival in October.

Al these elements make that Parma is a very attractive city to spend some time. It is a city to see and experience. In 2020 it becomes cultural capital of Italy. An extra reason to explore and discover this charming city.
